Reimbursement of costs
State health insurance schemes
State health insurance schemes do not provide for the reimbursement of fees for dietary and nutritional counselling.
Private health insurance
If you have taken out supplementary private health insurance that includes an outpatient tariff, the insurance company will, in most cases, pay the full consultation fee. To claim this, submit the invoice for the consultation fee and a referral from your GP to the insurance company.
Self-employed persons (SVS)
Self-employed persons receive the ‘Gesundheitshunderter’ from the Social Insurance Institution for the Self-Employed (SVS) each calendar year. The SVS therefore covers €100 for nutritional consultations. Further information on the ‘Gesundheits-100er’ can be found directly on the SVS website.
